Jump to recipe

Perhaps you have already fallen in love with green beans in the air fryer? Or perhaps you only use your air fryer for French fries? For those of you that have (or those of you that have not) already experienced the joys of air fried green beans, you need to try my garlic dilly green beans right away!

This low calorie side dish or snack pairs nicely with so many dishes and comes together in a flash.

If you are a fan of everything dill, read on! Its bright, tangy, fresh flavor pairs nicely with the garlic and green beans in this recipe.

A few key notes first….

What ingredients do I need to make garlic dilly green beans?

Well, obviously green beans to start. You also need salt, ground pepper, ground turmeric, fresh dill (lots of it), and garlic powder.

Yes, DO NOT try to substitute fresh minced garlic for the garlic powder here. All of your garlic will land in the base of your air fryer, leaving your green beans feeling bare and lacking in garlicky goodness. I tried it, and tears were shed…. Don’t do it, people!!!

Pin it now to save it for later!

Ok, let’s get cooking!

First up, you need to snip the ends of your green beans but otherwise leave them whole. Give them a good washing and then dry them well using a towel. Make sure your green beans are very dry.

Next you are going to pour your green beans in a bowl, coat with oil, and add your seasonings.

Then, we wait….

Give it 10 minutes or so. Meanwhile heat up your air fryer.

These will need to cook at 180 degrees Celsius (around 350 degrees Fahrenheit) in your air fryer (mine is a 5.5 liter) for around 12 minutes, shaking at the half way point. They taste best if you can wait and let them cool a few minutes to soften up even more. (Doesn’t mean you can’t snack on a few while you wait though!)

I’m having a party tomorrow for my daughters 25th Birthday & I’m officially adding this to the menu. I’ve been wandering what I was gonna do with all the green beans we grew this year. Let’s face it, canning is only fun for so long. Lol! This recipe looks amazing!!! Can’t wait to try it! Thanx

Just happened to have fresh picked beans from our garden and the required ingredients with us on our little weekend getaway. Only thing we didn’t have was an air fryer so I improvised and used BBQ. They turned out great.
